Question 781443: -9x - 6y = -36
-16x - 6y = -40 + 4x + 2y
-6x + 9y = 36
what would be the standard form for these linear equations?

The first one and the last one ARE in standard form. Knowing this, you can understand what to do with the middle equation to put it into standard form.

Note also, that for Ax+By=C, -Ax-By=-C are both in standard form and mean the same.
