Question 77706: can you tell me if I did this correctly? Thanks so much in advance!
Name the coordinate described here:
From the origin, the point is three places to the right and eight places down.

Answer:
(x=0,3), y=(3,-8)

Answer by funmath(2933)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Name the coordinate described here:
From the origin, the point is three places to the right and eight places down.
Going left and right gives x value of the coordinate.
Going up and down gives the y value of the coordinate.
Going 3 places right tells you x=+3 or x=3
Going 8 places down tells you y=-8
We put the coordinates in alphabetical order, so (x,y)=(3,-8)
Happy Calculating!!!
