Question 768143: Write an equation of the line with y-intercept -6 that is parallel to the graph of x - 3y = 8.
Answer by Cromlix(4381)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x - 3y = 8
Sort into y = mx = c
3y = x - 8
y = 1/3x - 8
Lines that are parallel have the same slope
m1 = m2
So, slope = 1/3
Equation:
y = 1/3x - 6
Hope this helps.
