Question 763411: Write the equation of the line, in slope-intercept form, containing the point (-4,5)and parallel to y=-3x+1
I don't know what slope-intercept form and if the equation is suppose to parallel or perpendicular?
Answer by Cromlix(4381) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A line parallel to y = -3x + 1
will have the same slope = -3
Using formula: Using (-4, 5) and slope = -3
y - b = m(x - a)
y - 5 = -3(x -(-4))
y - 5 = -3(x + 4)
y - 5= -3x - 12
y = -3x - 12 + 5
y = -3x - 7
Hope this helps you.
