Question 763302: Directions: Complete the proof with the statements and reasons below.
Given: 3(x-4)=33
Prove:x=15

Answer by ramkikk66(644)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
3*(x - 4) = 33
Expanding the parentheses
3*x - 3*4 = 33
3*x - 12 = 33
Adding 12 to both sides
3*x = 33+12 = 45
Dividing both sides by 3 (to cancel out the 3 on the left hand side)
x = 45/3 = 15
