Pens = y
5x + 7y = 195...1
7x + 5y = 153...2
Multiply (1) by 5
Multiply (2) by 7
25x + 35y = 975...3
49x + 35y = 1071..4
subtract (3) from (4)
24x = 96
x = 4
Substitute x = 4
into (1)
5x + 7y = 195
20 + 7y = 195
7y = 195 - 20
7y = 175
y = 25
So, Pencils cost rs 4
Pens cost rs 25
