Why do the points in a linear equation line up in a straight line and not in a curve?
A LINEAR EQN. IS THE EQN.REPRESENTS A STRAIGHT LINE IN CARTESIAN COORDINATE SYSTEM
WHERE AS A NON LINEAR EQN. DOES NOT REPRESENT A LINE , BUT GIVES RAISE TO A CURVE.
PUT IN AN EX.
LINEAR EQN IN X AND Y IS
AX+BY+C=0.........WHERE A,B,C ARE CONSTANTS..WE FIND THAT
(Y2-Y1)/(X2-X1) = -B/A = CONSTANT..WHERE X1,Y1 AND X2,Y2 ARE COORDINATES OF ANY 2 POINTS SATISFYING THE ABOVE EQN.
SO ALL THE POINTS ON THIS GRAPH WILL LEAD IN THE SAME DIRECTION ..THAT IS A ST.LINE
