Question 73834: What should I do to make a linear equation change to its standard form?
what should I do if the slope and the y intercept is on the left side?? like this question : -2x +10=2y ? should I divide everything by -2?? Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! The standard form equation of a line is ax+by=c
-2x +10=2y
You have a choice of leaving the x-term with the
negative coefficient of adding 2x to both sides to get:
10=2x+2y
You could now divide thru by 2 to get:
x+y=5
