Travis is three times as old as Anne. Mary is three years older than Travis. If Mary is 39 years old, how old is Travis and Anne?

T = 3A
M = T+3
M = 39

Substitute for M and solve for "T".
39 = T + 3
T = 36 (Travis's age now)

Now, solve for A:
36 = 3A
A = 12 yrs (Anne's age now)
