I am stumped by this question because I got stuck. it says: A street is needed to pass through (x,8) and (5,9) and should be a parallel to Avenue B (which is -2x + 8) What is the x-value that corresponds to the y-value of 8?
Write the equation of the line in slope-intercept form.
I know what to do with the two points, but I got stuck after I subtracted 9-8 and kept the 5-x resulting in 1 over 5-x. What do I do next? thanks in advance!
