Question 715217: How do I solve 4x+3y=9 plus 4x+3y=2 with relation to whether they are parallel perpendicular or neither? I need to see the steps for solving if possible please. Thank you

Answer by mananth(16946)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
4x+3y=9
write the equation in slope intercept form
3y= -4x+9
/3
y= (-4/3)x+3
.
4x+3y=2
3y= -4x+2
y=(-4/3)x+(2/3)
y= mx +b is the equation in slope intercept form
where m is the slope.
m in both the above lines is (-4/3)
so the lines are parallel.
Parallel lines have same slopes but different y intercepts
