Question 714558: How can you solve this using elimination?
x + 2y = 9
2x - 5y = -27
Answer by checkley79(3341) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x + 2y = 9 MULTIPLY BY -2 & ADD.
2x - 5y = -27
-2X-4Y=-18
---------------------------
0X-9Y=-45
Y=-45/-9
Y=5 ANS.
X+2*5=9
X+10=9
X=9-10
X=-1 ANS.
PROOF:
2(-1)-5*5=-27
-2-25=-27
-27=-27
