Question 707898: I'm having problems with Graphing Linear Equations with fractions.I have two problems I'm having troubles with.The equation is:
y = 2/5x
I have to find three ordered pairs that make sense with the equation and then graph them.The graph only goes to nine vertically and horizontally.Can you help me?
Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
When x = -5, y = (2/5)(-5) = -10/5 = -2
So one point is (-5, -2)
When x = 0, y = (2/5)(0) = 0
Another point is (0, 0)
When x = 5, y = (2/5)(5) = 10/5 = 2
The third point is (5, 2)
So the three points are: (-5, -2), (0,0) and (5, 2)
Plot these three points and draw a straight line through them to graph
Note: you can get away with using just two points to graph this line
