Question 700272: Is there a relationship between the sign (positive or negative) of the slope of a line and the angle the line makes with the x-axis? For example, if you graph y = 3x + 5, versus the graph of y = -3x + 5.
Answer by mananth(16946)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
take the equation y=mx+b
if m is positive the line will rise from the third quadrant to the first quadrant.
if m is negative the line will rise from the fourth quadrant to the second quadrant.
When the value of | b | the y intercept increases the angle made by the line with X axis increase.
