Question 69229: Solve the following system of linear inequalities by graphing
3x-y<2
x+y>2
Please help solve this

Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
First solve both for y
Equation 1
Solve for y
Equation 2
Solve for y
Then graph both equations of y
<---shade in this area. Note: green=2-x red=3x+2
Now since y is less than 3x+2 and greater than 2-x, you must shade in this region. So shade with your pencil above the the line of 2-x and below the line 3x+2. Essentially the shaded area should be in the right most square that forms from the 2 lines.
