Question 687332: 27x-9y=-12
Answer by sp75(12) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If you are trying to put this into slope intercept form (y=mx+b:: where m is the slope and b is where the equation of the line hits the y axis), then subtract 27x from the left side and divide all terms by -9 to isolate the y.
That will give you the equation of the line and you can plug in any x to find its y partner in the coordinate or vice versa.
For example, if I have y = x + 2 (The slope is one in this case) and I plug in one for x, then I know y = 3. So a point on that line is (1,3). Similarly, I can plug in 3 for y and find that x is one.
