Slope is "rise" over "run"
It is the height of the pyramid divided by the distance from
the endge to the center.
-----------------
In math the slope is defined as "change in y" divided by "change in x"
That is because y is a vertical distance and x is a horizontal distance.

Hope this helps.

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO IF YOU ARE USING A PYRAMID THEN PLOT TWO OF THE POINTS (BASE & TOP POINT) ON A GRAPH THUS (0,0) (5,4)
THE SLOPE IS CALCULATED USING
(Y2-Y1)/(X2-X1)
(4-0)/(5/0)
4/5 IS THE SLOPE OFF A LINE BETWEEN THESE TWO POINTS OR THE SLOPE OF THE SIDES OF THE PYRAMID.

Well, slope is defined as..."Rise over Run" which means that slope is a ratio (fraction, if you like) of the amount of rise divided by the distance from the base of the vertical height.
For example, if the pyramid's height is 250 meters (not sure if this is a realistic number) and the distance from the base of the verical line up through the center of the pyramid (this is called the height) is 200 meters, then the slope would be: Rise/Run = 250m/200m = 5/4
