Question 677238: Solve the following systems of linear equations by graphing
x+4y=-1
2X-4y=4

Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Graph the two equations (equation 1 is green, equation 2 is blue) using a graphing calculator to get

We can see that they intersect at the point (1, -0.5)

So x = 1 and y = -0.5 are the solutions.

Note: if you want the answer in fraction form, then x = 1 and y = -1/2 are the answers.
