Question 672804: 15x=16y=-410
x+y=-26
how do i solve this by elimination?
Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
15x+16y =-410
x + y =-26
==================
Multiply thru the bottom equqtion by 15:
15x + 16y = -410
15x + 15y = 15*-26
------------------
Subtract and solve for "y":
y = -20
--------------
Solve for "x":
x + y = -26
x - 20 = -26
x = -6
