Question 671674: if a line has a slope of 2 and travels through (1,-3), what would the equation look like?
Answer by mananth(16946) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
m= 2
The required line passes through both the points. So we select one point and plug it with the slope
Plug value of the slope and point ( 1 , -3 ) in
Y = m x + b
-3.00 = 2 * 1 + b
-3.00 = 2 + b
b= -3 + -2
b= -5
So the equation will be
Y = 2 x -5
