Ryan watched as the new sewer line was laid from the house to the main line, a distance of 48 feet. At the edge of the house, the sewer line was 6 inches under the ground. If the plumber tied in to the main line at a depth of 18 inches, what is the slope of the sewer line
--------------
18 - 6 = 12 inches = 1 foot
---------
Rise = 1 foot
Run = 48 ft
Slope = 1/48
Or -1/48 from the house
