Fascinated at how quickly the plumber was working, Ryan watched as the new sewer line was laid from the house to the main line, a distance of 48 feet. At the edge of the house, the sewer line was 6 inches underground. If the plumber tied into the main line at a depth of 18 inches, what is the slope of the sewer line?
What equation do I use to solve the problem? Please show all work.

You have an upside-down right triangle with height = 6-18 = -12 inches = -1 ft
and base = 48 feet
