Question 657150: Graph the line that contains the point (-2,-1) and has a slope of -1/4
Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Graph the line that contains the point (-2,-1) and has a slope of -1/4
-----------
slope = -1/4 means "y decreases 1 when x increases by 4".
---
Put your pencil point at (-2,-1)
Increase the x value by 4 to move your point to (2,-1)
Decrease the y value by 1 to move your point to (2,-2)
----
You now have points at (-2,-1) and (2,-2)
Draw a line thru the two points.
That is the graph you want.
