Question 655312: What is the equation of a line that is perpendicular to y=5 and passed through point (-2,2)?
I thought y=5 would be a horizontal line with no slope so I figured the point was (0,5) and I used that with (-2,2) to find the slope of this other line and ended up with 3/2. So, would the perpendicular line be y=3/2x+5? It doesn't seem right. ):

Hi,
Yes! y = 5 ia an horizontal line
Line perpendicular to that would need to be a vertical Line.
Vertical line passing thru (-2,2) would be x = -2
