Question 652533: Graph each equation, identifying the y-intercept.
y = -3/4x
where do i begin?

Answer by Shana-D77(132)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
This is in form y = mx + b where:
m is slope (aka: speed)
b is y-intercept (aka: where the graph hits the y-axis)
In your equation y = -3/4x, m = -3/4. There is no b. When this happens, put a point at (0,0) because this is where grpahs woth no b start.
-3/4 is read "down 3 and to the right(+) 4"
So, starting at (0,0), go down 3 spaces. Don't put a dot yet!
From down three, go over (to the right) 4 spaces. Put another dot!
Connect your dots. You're done!
