Question 62593: how do you do this equation? 14=2x???? i dont understand it!
Answer by 303795(602)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
14=2x
The 2x part means 2 multiplied by some unknown number. The letter x is often used to represent that unknown number.
So your problem is actually saying that 14 is equal to 2 multiplied by an unknown number.
A little thought or trial and error should show you that the unknown number (or x) will have to be 7 because 14 = 2 x 7
The solution would therefore be x=7
