Question 622944: How would you find the slpoe of a treadmill if it measures 5ft at the bottom and only 0.4ft on the up side. The picture in the book has 5ft at the bottom of the treadmill and it has 0.4ft on the side where the controls or front of the treadmill. I am really confused on this question I know it should probably be a percentage. I would appreciate any help I can get on this....Thank you very much!!!!

Remember, slope is defined as "rise/run".
rise = 0.4 ft
run = 5 ft

slope = 0.4/5 = 0.08
