Find the slope of the altitude to the line passing through:
(5,2)
(9,-6)
The slope formula (m) = (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1)
(-6 - 2) / (9 - 5)
-6 - 2 = -8
9 - 5 = 4
-8 / 4 = -2
The slope: -2
