which linear equation represents a line containing the point (1,3)? 

a) x+2y=5    1 + 6 ≠ 5

 b) x-2y=5   1 - 6 ≠ 5

 c) 2x+y=5   2 + 3 = 5

 d) 2x-y=5   2 - 3 ≠ 5

Just replace x = 1, y = 3 into each equation. If you get a true statement (5 = 5) then you have your answer.

1+2(3)=5 ... Replace 'x' with 1 and 'y' with 3





1+6 = 5
