Question 619746: If a line has no y-intercept, what can you say about the line? What if a line has no x-intercept? Think of a real-life situation where a graph would have no x- or y-intercept. Will what you say about the line always be true in that situation?
Answer by vleith(2983) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
1) A line that doesn't have a y intercept means that line does not cross the y axis. The only way that happens if the line is a vertical line that is not the y axis itself.
2)Same idea for x intercept. Except that means the line is a horizontal line that is not the x axis itself.
3) For example, a graph of cost vs number of chicken wings eaten. At Wings and Things, cost goes up as more wings are eaten. If the same cost was plotted vs chicken wings at an all you can eat buffet, the graph would be a horizontal line.
