Answer by lenny460(1073)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
4x - 5 = 6x + 11
Add 5 to each side of the equation.
4x - 5 + 5 = 6x + 11 + 5
Combine like terms:
-5 + 5 = 0
11 + 5 = 16
4x = 6x + 16
Subtract 4x from each side of the equation.
4x - 4x = 6x + 16 - 4x
Combine like terms:
4x - 4x = 0
6x - 4x = 2x
2x + 16
