y = mx + b where "m" is slope, "b" is y-intercept
notice that "m" always stick with x, "b" is always alone itself as a number
so your question can be rewritten as y = 2x + 1
compare with y = mx + b
your m = 2
b = 1
therefore slope = 2; y-int = 1
