Question 61671: Plot and solve (Identify solution sets) the following systems:
{2x=4+y and y/2=-x+2}
Answer by uma(370) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
{2x=4+y and y/2=-x+2}
FIRST OF ALL REWRITE THE GIVEN EQUATIONS IN TERMS OF X.
==> Y= 2X -4 AND Y = 2X + 2.
NOW PUT SOME VALUES TO X AND FINE THE CORRESPONDING VALUES OF Y.
NOW PLOT THE GRAPH USING THESE VALUES.
REPEAT THE SAME IN CASE OF THE SECOND EQUATION.
FROM THE GRAPH WE CAN SEE THAT THE EQUATIONS ARE PARALLEL.
SO THE EQUATIONS HAVE NO SOLUTION.
BYE.
