y=mx+b [the slope-intercept form]
x-y=6 [solve for y]
-y=-x+6
-y/-1=-x/-1+6/-1 [simplify]
y=x-6
.
to graph,
y=any y value on the line
m=the slope of the line
x=any corresponding point
b=the y-intercept at point (0, b)
.
So, for y=x-6
m=1 and y-intercept = -6
