Question 614314: Solve the system of equations by elimination
7x + 6y=30
9x - 8y= 15
Answer by mananth(16946) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
7 x + 6 y = 30 .............1
9 x -8 y = 15 .............2
Eliminate y
multiply (1)by 4
Multiply (2) by 3
28 x 24 y = 120
27 x -24 y = 45
Add the two equations
55 x = 165
/ 55
x = 3.00
plug value of x in (1)
7 x + 6 y = 30
21 + 6 y = 30
6 y = 30 -21
6 y = 9
y = 1.50
(3,1.5) is the solution of the system
