Question 61106: could you help me find the slope and y-intercept.
–x – 4y = –32

Answer by tutorcecilia(2152)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
y=mx+b [slope-intercept form of a line]
y=any y value of the line
m=the slope of the line
x=any corresponding x value of the line
b=the y-intercept (the point where the line crosses the y-axis at point (0,b)]
.
–x – 4y = –32[re-write in the slope-intercept form by solving for y]
-4y=x-32
y=(-/4)x-(32/-4)
y=(-1/4)x+8
.
slope=m=(-1/4)
y-intercept = b =(0, 8)
