Find the slope of each line:
These are both special cases that you need to memorize:
:
a. 3x=6 Slope:
3x/3=6/3
x=2
Whenever you have x=k, where k is a real number and there's no y in the equation, you have a vertical line going through x=k. In this case a vertical line going through x=2. Vertical lines go forever up and down at the same time, because of this they all have an undefined slope.
:
b. 3/2y=9 Slope:
(2/3)(3/2)y=(3/2)9
y=27/2=13.5
Whenever you have y=k, where k is a real number and there's no x in the equation, you have a horizontal line going through y=k. In this case, you have a horizontal line going through y=13.5. Horizontal lines never go up or down, so their slope is m=0.
