Solve this equation using the elimination method
y= 6x+63
17x=-308+9y
My answer is
-9(y=6x+63)= -9y= -54x-*567
+ 9y= -17x+308
my answer x=-259/-7
IS THIS CORRECT
Answer by ankor@dixie-net.com(22740) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Solve this equation using the elimination method
y = 6x + 63
17x = -308 + 9y
You substitute (6x+63) for y, you no longer have y in the equation
17s = -308 + 9(6x+63)
17x = -308 + 54x + 567
17x - 54x = -308 + 567
-37x = 259
x =
x = -7
:
Find y
y = 6(-7) + 63
y = -42 + 63
y = 21

Check these solutions in the 2nd original equation
