You didn't say, but I'm guessing that you have to graph this line. I'm going to use the intercept method.
-3x + 8y = 48
:
Let y=0 and solve for x, this is the x-intercept.
-3x+8(0)=48
-3x+0=48
-3x=48
-3x/-3=48/-3
x=-16
Plot (-16,0)

Now let x=0 and solve for y, that is the y-intercept.
-3(0)+8y=48
0+8y=48
8y=48y/8=48/8
y=6
Plot (0,6)
