In order to use the slope intercept methos=d, we must put the equation into slope intercept form: , where m=slope, and (0,b)=y-intercept.
-3x+3x+5y=-3x+12
5y=-3x+12
The y-intercept is: (0,12/5) which is (0,2 2/5), because your y-intercept is a fraction you wouldn't want to use this method unless your instructions said you had to,
Plot (0,2 2/5) this is a little less than half way to 3 on the y-axis.
From that point use your slope: . Slope is rise/run, so rise -3 (go down 3 units) and run 5 (go right 5 units) and plot a second point. (this should be (5, -3/5).)
