finding the equation for the line having a slope of -3 and passing thru (3,-4) putting it in y=mx+b form
.
Simply plug in given info into the "point-slope" form:
y - y1 = m(x - x1)
y - (-4) = -3(x - 3)
now, just manipulate until you get the desired form:
y + 4 = -3x + 9
y = -3x + 5 (this is what they're looking for)
