Question 567977: Equation of the line perpendicular to 4x-6y=5 containing (4,2)
-6y=-4x+5
y=-4/6x+-5/6
y=2/3x-5/6
m=2/3

y=-3/2x+b
2=-3/2(4)+b
2=-12/2+b
2=-6+b
y=-3/2x+8

Find the coordinates of the point of intersection of the perpendicular lines in the problem above.
Would love to see this step by step how to solve this, as I have many more problems just like it.
Thank you so much!

I agree with your solution so far, except that I would write
y=-4/(-6x)+-5/6 where I read y=-4/6x+-5/6
I guess it was somehow changed in entering it, but y=2/3x-5/6 anyway.
With and , we can substitute and get
