Question 564430: I have finals coming up so I have been studying but everywhere I look I can not figure out this one problem. 0= -y + 3 + 7 x find the slope of each line . I know it is 7 because I checked the answer key but I am trying to figure out how they got it .
Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
0= -y + 3 + 7 x find the slope of each line
------------
Solve for "y":
y = 7x+3
----
If x = 0, y = 3
If x = 1, y = 7+3 = 10
---
Notice that y gained 7 when x gained 1.
---
That tells you the slope is 7 because
the slope = (change in y)/(change in x)
