Question 560191: Find an equation of the line that contains the given pair of points. Write the equation in the form y = mx + b.
#1 (6, 2) and (-3, 7)

#2 (-2, 6) and (9, -6)

Answer by mananth(16946)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x1 y1 x2 y2
6 2 -3 7

slope m =(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)
(7-2)/(-3-6)
(5/-9)
m=- 5/ 9

Plug value of the slope and point (6, 2) in
Y = m x + b
2 = -10/3 + b
b= 2 - (-10/3)
b= 16/ 3
So the equation will be
Y = - 5/9 x + 16/3
