They say the answer is y=4/5x-28/5
How do you get the -28?????
Thank you
Answer by Theo(13342) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
m=4/5,(2-4)
I get to y+4=4/5(x-2)
good to here.
rewrite as y+4-4= 4/5x-2-4
this statement is not right.
you took the (x-2) out of the parentheses which messed up your equation.
it should have stayed in the parentheses until you were ready to remove it using the distributive law of multiplication.
it should have been:
y + 4 - 4 = (4/5)*(x-2) - 4
you then need to simplify by multiplying the factors out using the distributive law of multiplication to get:
y = (4/5)*x - (4/5)*2 - 4 which simplifies to:
y = (4/5)*x - (8/5) - 4
since 4 is equivalent to 20/5, your equation becomes:
y = (4/5)*x - (8/5) - (20/5)
you can now combine the fractions with the same denominator to get:
y = (4/5)*x - (28/5)
