Start at the point (1,4). The slope of -2 means that for every unit increase in x, y decreases by 2 (i.e increases by -2). Given this, we can say that (0,2) is another point on the line. Connect the two points and make a line.

Plot the point (1, 4). Go right 2 units and down 1 unit (or go left 2 and up 1 if you would rather. It doesn't matter). Plot the new point. Draw a line through your two points.
