Question 553662: The intercepts of a line are shown below.
x-intercept = 4
y-intercept = -2
What is the slope of this line?

Answer by Maths68(1474)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
When
x-intercept = 4, y=0
y-intercept = -2, x=0
So we have two points
Points (4,0) and (0,-2)
Put the values of above points in the equation of straight line point-slope form
m=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)
m=(-2-0)/(0-4)
m=-2/-4
m=1/2
Slope the line is 1/2
Equation will be
y=mx+b
y=x/2-2
