The length of a rectangle is 7 times its width. The perimeter of the rectangle is 64 cm. Find the dimensions of the rectangle. Write a linear equation.
Perimeter = 2(length+width]
64=2(7w+w)[Plug-in the values]
64=2(8w)
64=16w
64/16=w [Solve for w]
4=wdth
length = 7w=(7)(4)=28
64=2(28+4)
64=2(32)
64=64
