Question 526501: how can i find the x and y intercepts of the problem 6y=3x-8. I think i understand when the x and y are on the same side but this one has me stumped. Any help you could give would be appreciated. thanks Daniel
Answer by nerdybill(7384)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Rearrange:
6y=3x-8
so that it is in "slope-intercept" form of
y = mx + b
where
m is the slope
b is the y-intercept at (0,b)
.
6y=3x-8
y=(3/6)x-8/6
y=(1/2)x-4/3
.
From inspection we see that
slope is 1/2
and
y-intercept is at (0, -4/3)
