Question 524978: find the equation of the line with slope 5/7 and passing through (1,-6)
Answer by Maths68(1474) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
slope = m=5/7, point (1,-6)
Equation of the line point slope form
m=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)
put the values in above formula
5/7=(y-(-6))/(x-1)
5/7=(y+6))/(x-1)
5(x-1)=7(y+6)
5x=7y+42+5
5x=7y+47
7y+47=5x
7y=5x-47
y=(5x-47)/7
y=(5/7)x-47/7 (Required Equation of the line)
